Mr Barry Rosenberg
Hastings Boys' High School 1968 - 1972
Barry attended Hastings Boys' High School and has been a practising Chartered Accountant for 43 years. In recognition of his contributions to the profession, he was made a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand & Australia in 2016 and a Fellow of Chartered Governance New Zealand in 2012. Barry is a Business and Farm Succession Planning Specialist and has published and lectured extensively on these topics. He also developed "65 Not Out," a programme designed to assist with the transition from work life to retired life. In 2011, Barry earned a Master's degree in Business, graduating with an MBA (Hons).
Currently, Barry is a PhD student at Victoria University.
Barry's hobbies and interests revolve around family, and he is dedicated to being there for them in everyday life, especially in supporting his grandchildren’s sports, their schooling, and his children's professions and businesses. He enjoys watching rugby and cricket at all levels and is an active supporter of the Cornwall Cricket Club and the Hastings Rugby & Sports Club.
Barry is passionate about Hastings Boys' High School, serving as the Chairman of the HBHS Old Boys' Association and the Chairman of the HBHS Foundation Trustees. He is also deeply committed to assisting people in exiting their businesses and transitioning into retirement. Additionally, Barry has a strong passion for the Cornwall Cricket Club, which he co-founded in 1991, and he currently serves as its President and is a Life Member.
