Mr Quentin Crawford
Hastings Boys' High School 1982-1986
After completing 7th form, Quentin attended Victoria University and Wellington College of Education, where he obtained a Teaching Diploma and a Degree in Education. He returned to Hawke's Bay and taught at Hastings Intermediate from 1991 to 1997. In 1997, Quentin was offered a position at Hastings Boys' High School by Headmaster G.E. Thomas, where he continues to teach to this day.
As of August 2024, Quentin serves as the Deputy Headmaster, responsible for the day-to-day running of the school. He also teaches within the school's vocational and pathways programmes.
In his free time, Quentin enjoys spending time with his whānau at their beach house at Waimarama Beach, where they often engage in diving around Bare Island. He also has a passion for cooking and appreciates how food brings friends and whānau together.
One of Quentin's passions is ensuring the legacy and traditions of Hastings Boys' High School are preserved and passed on to the next generation. Helping young men understand the importance of this and seeing it come to fruition is something Quentin finds deeply satisfying.
